Here at Hernandez Carpet Cleaning we give our absolute best attention to our customer's needs and requests. Such needs are easy scheduling, on-time arrival, and a step by step explanation of our cleaning process. What's the step AFTER the actual cleaning and the technician is gone? Well here are a few FAQs and recommendations you can do in order to keep your carpet clean!
Can I Step On The Carpet While It Is Damp?
Yes, you can walk on your carpet immediately after the cleaning. It is best to wear clean rubber soled shoes and avoid re-soiling your carpet by keeping outdoor shoes away from it. To avoid slipping, be very cautious when walking from damp, carpeted areas on to non-carpeted areas.
How Long Does It Take The Carpet To Dry?
The estimated time for drying can be affect by many factors. These factors are humidity, temperature and air flow within the unit. With these in place, it can take 6-12 hours for the carpet to completely dry. We recommend leaving your thermostat on 70 degrees (Heat or Cold) with the fan turned on. Also, turn on any ceiling fans...this will help cut down time in the drying process. If there are any, please leave the foam blocks under your furniture legs until the carpet is dry. By doing so, you avoid any color transfer from the furniture to your carpet.
Keeping It Clean!
Vacuum
We recommend to vacuum your carpet at least 2-3 times a week. The vacuum itself doesn't matter as long as it works and the collecting bag inside is empty. Empty the bag out after each cleaning in order to get the best performance out of your vacuum. For high traffic areas (areas where people walk over frequently), pass the vacuum about 5 times and 2-3 times for other areas.
Change Your Layout
Walking over the same area on a daily basis will wear out your carpet without a doubt. In order to slow down this process, changing your room's layout of furniture around every six months or so can help because the carpet will be "feeling" a new walking routine. By doing this the carpet will no longer be receiving as much wear-and-tear on the exact same area.
Shoes
The best way to keep a carpet looking new is by leaving all of the bad stuff outside. Walking around the house with shoes on can cause the carpet to wear out and even change color. It is better to take shoes off before walking on carpet or adding a rug over it which will protect the carpet from getting damaged.
